A trainee doctor first approved my blood tests here and everything was great, but once they left the doctor that took over refused tests and did not help me with getting onto the NHS waitlist at all.
Very unknowledgeable so unless you want to put in work educating people I'd look elsewhere.

I asked for a referral to the GIC in 2023 for my daughter (AMAB) and the doctor first said they needed to do a mental health referral before doing this. I explained her mental health was not a concern but was told this was still the process. I insisted they should do both simultaneously, as I knew they could do the referral without waiting to see the CAMH team first, so they did agree to this but I basically had to download the referral myself from the Tavistock website then fill it all in with my daughter and the doctor just signed it. There was not much understanding of healthcare for trans young people or any support with the federal. They refused to do any shared care with private providers, including blood tests. This obviously was pre the changes that happened regarding blockers and young people so I can’t imagine it has improved here since then but obviously this information is from our personal experience a few years ago.
On the positive side they did agree to change my daughters name with a deed poll.
